Is it a goal, a dream that a person haven’t achieved? Is it a negative shortcomings? Or is it a person’s perception of himself of being not capable enough to achieve what he wanted to be?
What does failure to you and to everybody means?
Failure has been part of everyone’s journey in life. Some people blame for it and others keep on committing the same thing over and over again. Some just don’t care and let themselves go with the flow and only a few accept it and learn from it.
It’s common to people to say that “I’ve been there and done that!” or “Trust me, I don’t want the same mistake to happen again” worst case scenario most of them says “Life sucks!” but did you know, to those who accepted failure and learned from it will say, “Failing for me is not bad, it is good”.
So, we may have different views in life, different principles and philosophies or we may came from different countries with different norms, cultures and beliefs and even standards we set to ourselves but one thing for sure is that- you, we cannot avoid failure. We may blame someone or something for having it but we can’t because we have to. Why? Can’t we just live in world free from worries, mistakes and grudges? But we can’t because we have to learn. Learning is not just a knowledge gained from memorizing or lectures within the four side of the room. Learning can be done through failing. But once you failed doesn’t mean that you are not enough, that you are a looser or you don’t possess the skills. It only means that you can do better than what you did. Take it from an optimistic view, failure makes you realize who you are, what you are and how you can be a person you always dreamed of. It’s the best turning point of your life where you’ll realized the worth of small things and how it is very important.
There are two secrets to overcome failure, first is through acceptance. Don’t beat around the bush or let other people take the responsibility instead of you. Accept it as a challenge and not a problem to be solved. Nobody knows, it might be your time to shine and prove not to anybody but to yourself that you can do it. And the second secret is just be yourself. You don’t have to be somebody that you are not or to be someone who can do anything which is not. Just be honest to yourself on what are the things you can and you can’t do. Nobody is born perfect. But don’t limit yourself to only one skill that you know. Give yourself a room for improvement and new knowledge. If you are a business student, you can learn a thing or two about photography, or try to learn basic coding, or learn to speak other language. It’s better to learn a little of everything.
Now, what does failure meant for you? Is it positive? Or negative? How do you handle failure? Which one are you on those people who perceive it as mentioned above?
I hope you read this by heart and not just because you just wanted to read it. Failure is the highway to success and if you want to succeed, you have to work for it and whenever you fail, stand up, never give up and keep the fire burning.
